Embedded and product software engineering

Three Minds Software is three engineers in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. We write firmware, embedded Linux, and the desktop and cloud software around a device.

Most projects are one of these:

• A new product, from requirements through production firmware.
• An existing product that needs new features or fixes while it keeps shipping.
• A codebase we take over because the original developer or vendor is gone.

All three of us have electrical engineering degrees. We read schematics, work directly with the hardware engineers, and debug on the bench.

How we work

We start by agreeing on written requirements and a schedule. We work with the parts, toolchains, and code a product already has, and we do not need a rewrite or a new platform to get started.

You deal with the engineers doing the work. There is no sales or account layer. The same three people have run the practice since 2014 and stay on a product after release.
